Specialist exhaust repairs, replacement systems and custom fabrication for trucks, buses, commercial vehicles, specialised vehicles, cars and bakkies.
From our workshop in Pretoria, PTEC handles everything from straightforward exhaust repairs to complete custom-built systems for vehicles and applications where standard solutions are unavailable, unsuitable or repeatedly fail.
Truck exhaust repairs • Commercial exhaust systems • Mild steel • Stainless steel • Custom fabrication
PTEC was started in Pretoria in 1998 with a focus on truck exhaust systems and commercial exhaust work remains the part of the business.
We repair, adjust and make exhaust systems for trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles in steel and stainless steel.
Our work includes truck stack systems, truck drum systems, complete and partial replacement systems, custom pipework and repairs to damaged exhaust parts.
At PTEC we make our own replacement systems and silencers instead of using original equipment manufacturer parts.
When an exhaust keeps failing we look at factors such as how it is fixed where it is placed, vibrations, movement and the way it is used.

Solutions for repeated exhaust failures
Commercial vehicles are exposed to vibration, chassis movement, road shock, heat cycles and demanding operating conditions.
In some cases, the original layout, mounting arrangement or material choice contributes to repeated cracking or premature failure.
PTEC looks at the system as a whole before recommending a repair or modified solution.
Depending on the job, that may include:
The aim is not simply to replace the failed section, but to build a solution suited to the vehicle and the way it is used.
A properly functioning exhaust system controls noise, manages exhaust gases and can affect engine efficiency.
A small crack, failed mounting or leaking joint may seem minor, but leaving it unattended can lead to larger failures and unnecessary repair costs.
PTEC has worked with commercial operators, vehicle manufacturers and dealerships on exhaust systems and recurring exhaust problems.
This includes work undertaken for Nissan South Africa and Nissan dealerships in Pretoria.
This experience forms part of the practical, problem-solving approach used in the workshop today.
PTEC also repairs and manufactures exhaust systems for cars and bakkies.
Work ranges from replacing worn or damaged sections to complete mild-steel or stainless-steel systems.
Where a recurring factory weakness is identified, PTEC can develop an alternative solution rather than simply reproducing the same weak point.
PTEC manufactures specialised components and systems for road, track, drag and oval-track race cars where standard parts just don’t cut it.
Custom exhaust systems and branches can be fabricated in mild steel, stainless steel or titanium.
Custom radiators, intercoolers, catch tanks, breather tanks, plenums and similar components are generally fabricated in aluminium.
Different jobs call for different materials. PTEC helps you select the best material to suit the job and your needs,

PTEC operates from Daspoort, Pretoria, serving customers across Pretoria, the wider Tshwane area and further afield.
Whether you need a truck exhaust repaired, a replacement system manufactured, a recurring failure investigated or a custom system fabricated, speak to PTEC about the job.
Yes. Truck exhaust repairs are a core part of PTEC’s work, from individual pipes, silencers and brackets to larger sections of the system.
Yes. PTEC manufactures complete and partial truck exhaust systems, including stack systems, drum systems and custom-built replacement systems.
Yes. PTEC repairs and manufactures generator exhaust systems, including pipework, silencers, flanges, brackets and replacement sections.
In many cases, yes. Where an exhaust repeatedly cracks or fails in the same area, PTEC can assess factors such as mounting, vibration, movement and routing before recommending a solution.
Yes. PTEC works with mild steel and stainless steel for exhaust systems, titanium for suitable specialised exhaust work, and aluminium for radiators, intercoolers, plenums and fabricated tanks.
No. PTEC manufactures its own replacement exhaust systems and silencers to suit the vehicle rather than fitting OEM exhaust assemblies.
Yes. PTEC can manufacture a replacement section or complete system where the original part is unavailable or unsuitable.
No. Trucks and commercial exhaust systems are PTEC’s primary specialisation, but the workshop also works on buses, specialised vehicles, generators, cars, bakkies and custom or performance projects.
